Aero Image was created in 1996 by Rogier Westerhuis shortly after completing his first aerial photo-session on invitation of the Esquadrillha da Fumaça; the air demonstration squadron of the Brazilian Air Force. We specialise in aerial photography and we aim to provide the military and aerospace industry with top quality images and to promote aviation using both the printed as well as web based media.

Aero Image offers an economic solution for all aerial photographic needs. But we do more to support corporate communication than just providing top quality images. We provide excellent media exposure through articles in some of the best aviation magazines around the world. Our photographs will be available to other journalists, authors and publishers to illustrate their articles and books and our work is used by air arms around the globe for their internal as well as their external public relations needs.

We have an excellent and long-standing relationship with some the of best aviation related publications. We work on commission as well as on our own initiative, always carefully selecting our subjects to allow for a maximum of coverage. As we are independent we have no obligation to provide our work exclusively to one publisher so successful assignments are normally published in a variety of magazines. This allows for an excellent return-on-investment for us as well as for our clients.

The aim of all our photographic assignments is to depict the atmosphere of flying at its most exciting and exhilarating and to exceed the expectations of our clients! In order to accomplish this, we use modern Nikon photographic equipment. The digitalization of photography meant a considerable improvement on image post-processing times, enhanced flexibility, increase of quality in print and far easier reproduction and distribution of images. Aero Image takes full benefit of all these exciting developments and stays up-to-date with the ongoing changes.

We have flown over 100 aerial photo-sessions in a wide variety of aircraft and helicopters. These include fast-jet aircraft such as the Lockheed-Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon, Northrop F-5 Tiger, British Aerospace Hawk, NAMC K-8 Karakorum et cetera, transport aircraft such as the Lockheed C-130 Hercules, CASA CN-235 and the Antonov An-32, training aircraft such as the EMBRAER EMB.312 Tucano and Pilatus PC-7 and a wide range of helicopters including the Bell AH-1 Cobra, Mill Mi-24 Hind and the legendary Bell UH-1 Huey. A detailed briefing is normally given before every flight allowing for the most efficient use of expensive flying time and to reemphasize flight-safety aspects related to aerial photography.

We have completed projects with over twenty different air arms and flying units and some key players in the aerospace industry. Various of these have used our services more then once. Do you wonder why? Because we commit ourselves to following simple objectives:

Our aim → Depict the atmosphere of flying at its most exhilarating.
Our goal → Provide top quality images.
Our motto → Quality through perfection with an eye for detail.
