My work I flew my first aerial photo session while I was working on a photo article on the flying element of the Slovenian army. Now -after eight years of experience with aerial photography- it is clear that this specialization is the most demanding, most difficult, but definitely most rewarding way of photographing aircraft and helicopters. I flew photo sessions in a wide variety of aircraft and helicopters. These include fast-jet aircraft such as the Lockheed-Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon, Northrop F-5 Tiger, BAe Hawk, MiG-17UTI (FT-5) etc, transport aircraft such as the Lockheed C-130 Hercules and the Antonov An-32, training aircraft such as the EMBRAER EMB.312 Tucano and Pilatus PC-7 and a wide range of helicopters including the Bell AH-1 Cobra, Mill Mi-24 Hind and the legendary Bell UH-1 Huey. I worked with over 20 different air arms or units with most of them being outside Europe. My work has been used in a variety of prominent aviation related media and for public relations purposes by different air arms and flying units. On a regular basis I am asked by publishers, writers and private individuals to provide images to illustrate articles, books, websites and to deliver a print to decorate an office or room. The aim of all my photographic assignments is to depict the atmosphere of flying at its most exciting and exhilarating best and to over exceed the expectation of all the parties involved! In order to accomplish this, I use modern Nikon digital cameras and Nikon 35 mm SLR cameras. The introduction of the digital camera has further enhanced my ability to supply images for reproduction in a variety of media at the highest possible quality with a maximum of (digital) flexibility! The aim of all my photographic assignments is to depict the atmosphere of flying at its most exciting and exhilarating best and to over exceed the expectation of all the parties involved! |

The results of the project form the basis for an article [example] or photo-profile which I offer to various aviation related magazines around the world. These articles are mainly based on the information which is provided by the units involved, giving general information about the unit' s history, present and future and the flying equipment they operate. Where possible interviews with people such as commanders and pilots are also used for the article. To secure that only non-sensitive and correct information is used for the article, the parties involved are always asked to read the article before it is being released for publication. As a freelance photographer my work is used by magazines such as World Air Power Journal, International Air Power Review, Air Forces Monthly and Aircraft Illustrated (United Kingdom), Jets and Air Fan (France), AEREI and TuttoAEREI (Italy), Combat Aircraft (USA), Koku Fan and JWings (Japan) and others in Belgium, The Netherlands and Australia.
Since I started working as a freelancer nine years ago, I have visited 20 different air arms and units around the globe and compiled an archive containing several thousands of images available for licensed reproduction.
